As 5 out to Worli and 6 back to the start.<\/p>\n

When the end of 10 approached,<\/p>\n

They realised 2 more left<\/p>\n

Imagine their horror when the finish line<\/p>\n

Just slid ahead by a full kilometre.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Following that were 2 hill repeats.<\/p>\n

Which Boy 1 flew up over<\/p>\n

Boy 2, the stronger one, stayed by her side,<\/p>\n

As slow death found her.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In this brain dead state they counted the miles<\/p>\n

Which just didn\u2019t add up.<\/p>\n

Oh forget it they said,<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s just finish the rest, with whatever strength we have left.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

18.5 was done and they settled for 21,<\/p>\n

25 for sure was not happening that day!<\/p>\n

So off they went, out for 1.5 km<\/p>\n

And dawdled back for most of the rest.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the last part, something snapped in her<\/p>\n

And she just went for it.<\/p>\n

She picked up her knees and pumped her arms,<\/p>\n

Ran, like she had never run before!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Finish the damn thing and be done with it, she thought.<\/p>\n

Boy 1 who sprinted up the hill, the one who had whined the most,<\/p>\n

Saw her zoom off and could not bear the sight<\/p>\n

Of her leading the way.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He found some superhuman strength and reached beside her,<\/p>\n

Surprised as she was, to see him there.<\/p>\n

She upped the pace and he matched it,\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

He pushed it and she did not let go,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And they both dropped to their knees together<\/p>\n

At the end of what became a 400m race<\/p>\n

At the end<\/p>\n

Of 21 long kilometres.<\/p>\n
